Music Producer - DJ - Musician - Sound designer
BIO
Witzen has a number of skills ranging from music production, musician and DJ; using these skills to create a collection of sound design and original music. Witzen is always looking for opportunities to develop my technical skills and collaborate with creative professionals or play out live, he just loves to get out and perform!
As a music producer and artist, Witzen has manage to get a single released out a compilation EP with Trust Audio Records under the name "Shop Run" on Tribes Vol.7. He hopes this to be the first of many as he continue to push himself learning deeper down the rabbit hole of music production.
As a musician, Witzen can play a variety of different instruments, such guitar, bass guitar, piano, flute and drums (being his main instrument of choice as well as earning a BA Degree studying at The Academy of Contemporary Music).
Over the years, Witzen has also learnt how to DJ and even played at many different events from playing dnb/Jungle to Brazilian funk and jazz to a whole selection of different styles (such as funk, reggae, soul, hip hop, garage, house and much more). He started out learning on CDJs and has managed to push his skill set eventually also onto vinyl.
As Witzen continues to push himself in stretching his imagination and musical boundaries. If you’d like to learn more about Witzen's inspirations, interests, or past work, get in touch today!
DJ INFO
Here are a few photos of Witzen performing live as a DJ at several different events. He can mix on both digital and vinyl decks.
When he's mixing on CDJs/a digital set-up, he normally mixes his own tunes and a varied selection of drum and bass (and most of the sub-genres surrounding DNB; the main ones being minimal, techy, jungle, rollers, deep and liquid). Witzen also have experience in mixing Tech house, Deep House, Techno, Disco, Funk, Garage, dubstep and everything else in between.
When Witzen mixes on vinyl, he tends to prefer to mix his record collection by playing out a variety of funk, jazz, classic Brazilian funk, bossa nova, neo-soul, classic hip-hop, classic rock and reggae (most of his main influences growing up).
Witzen loves all kinds of music and being able to share that with people, as he believes it is the one thing all humans have in common (music in general).

ADVANCED ELECTRONIC MUSIC PRODUCTION (ABSTRACT)
Within this assessment, the main idea was to create a variety of different styles of music and resample them into different styles/genres of music. Through this project, he referred them to stages 1, 2 and 3 to break down each section).
Stage 1 will be recording himself playing a variety of different instruments (from guitar, bass guitar, keys, flute and drums). The main goal for this stage was to create jazz, funk, soul and blues styles of music. This would be achieved by creating little 16/32 bar loops on each instrument and utilising the session view within Ableton Live 11.
Stage 2 will include resampling stage 1 into (old-school) Hip-hop based tracks; diving deeper into some of the production techniques and equipment used by Witzens influences and some that even changed the way techniques and methodologies are used even in today's modern music productions and practices.
Lastly, stage 3 will include samples created both within stages 1 and 2, as well as utilising the techniques discovered (from research) as well as experimenting with other techniques used within modern electronic music (such as house tech, deep house and professional
mixing/mastering production techniques). The main goal within this stage was to create 4 final tracks that were mainly influenced by the samples and techniques created/learnt throughout the entire course of this project (as well as further experimenting in trying to create a signified sound; mixing his influences from both stages 1 and 2 as well as other influences and inspirations that came throughout this project).
The overall goal of this project was to showcase all his skills as both a musician and a producer while also further developing creative strategies to help improve his knowledge and build a well-rounded portfolio.
